I imagine they actually wanted Sinatra, and had to settle on Monro. Sinatra later did "Softly, While I Leave You," with which Monro had already had a minor hit in the U.K.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04335496287080742001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620940070153527301.post-84876800869294838492007-05-19T17:51:00.000-07:002007-05-19T17:51:00.000-07:00I love comparing notes about stuff like this. Most crooners got their start trying to imitate him. I love Tony Bennett, too. God bless him, he still has a way with a lyric! Also, perhaps not the coolest choice, but Andy Williams always had such a clean, clear, pretty voice and a simple style that I loved. My 2 cents. :)Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04828311796354662076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620940070153527301.post-54896038725708156682007-05-19T15:59:00.000-07:002007-05-19T15:59:00.000-07:00Rick,Thanks for sending me your way!Rick,<BR/>Thanks for sending me your way!Kathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11200177056135281932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620940070153527301.post-24268593950631866162007-05-19T12:38:00.000-07:002007-05-19T12:38:00.000-07:00Michael Buble, eh?
