Exploring Palm Springs: Contrasts in the Desert
Happy Friday! For my sixth installment of "Exploring Palm Springs" I decided to feature contrasts in and around Palm Springs. Outside & Inside: Windmills & the Hotel Zoso lobby downtown
Dry & Wet: Desert Sand & The Salton "Sea" lake
Short & Tall: Patio "Ponytail" Potted Palm & Date Palm Trees
Night & Day: Downtown Mercado Plaza
Thanks for following along with this series all week, I appreciate your visit!
Queen- Since I took Monday and Tuesday off, I drove around the desert for the past 5 days taking all sorts of photos that catch my eye. Then each day I create a story out of the photos I have not used. So for this week, I didn't take any new photos Wednesday Thursday or Friday...I just have lots of material to work with.
Nice wind farm! I saw lots of them in West Texas when I did a road trip to New Mexico last spring. While they're not particularly attractive, there's something hypnotic about all those blades slowly turning, and knowing that they're making light bulbs come on in some distant town.
Nice photos! The ones of the Salton Sea caught my eye since I noticed our local arthouse movie theatre is showing "Plagues and Pleasures on the Salton Sea."
Thanks for putting up all thos pics, I really enjoyed them. CU
ReplyDeleteI'm curious if that is a stock photo of Salton Sea or if you drove all the way down there just for the blog.
ReplyDeleteWow. Very cool. I want to go visit my friend in Cali now.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics.......as always. The contrast between the desert and the sea is an amazing one. Thanks again for sharing.
