While it's hard to believe, this week marks the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. For those of you who are Elvis fans, I thought you might be interested in this recent development. It seems that Elvis' former home in Palm Springs is about to be developed into a tourist attraction. A local couple bought Elvis' house with plans to restore it. They intend for it to become a mini-Graceland of California. Elvis and Priscilla Presley bought the home in April 1970 and lived there part-time with Lisa Marie Presley.
The Elvis connection to Palm Springs started back in May 1967, when newlyweds Elvis and Priscilla spent their honeymoon in Palm Springs and fell in love with the desert. Photo: Priscilla and Elvis Presley after their wedding on May 1st 1967.

I'll keep you all posted as there are new developments with the Elvis house. For more information, you can check out this site.

So, you're buying it....right? And we're all invited to the party? Let us know when. Will there be ghosts in this home?
ReplyDeleteWell being a fan of Elvis and of Palm Spring I’m kind of happy to see the home turn into a tourist attraction. I bought Palm Springs Ca real estate a few years ago and became a permanent resident so I’d love to see this happen. The city is already home to many celebrities past and present which is one of the reasons I moved to the area.
ReplyDeleteBefore I moved here I wasn’t sure about becoming a resident. I visited often but then started looking at homes for sale by realtor, Kimberly Hertel. I got a full city tour and saw so many properties I had a hard time deciding on a home. It all panned out well and Kimberly got me and my family out here rather quickly. There’s so much to do out here and with Elvis’ house being turned into an attraction that just up’s the ante!
wow hard to believe it has been 30 years...I remember the news of his death coming over the TV. He was so talented..the world lost a bright soul that day.
