Lake Tahoe, Part 2: The Heavenly Gondola

Today is the second installment in the three part series on my visit to Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The fresh mountain air and stunning views of Lake Tahoe were so incredibly refreshing. It was quite chilly in the early mornings and evenings. Four inches of fresh snow fell Friday evening, which was just enough to make everything look so pretty. During the day temperatures went up to 55 degrees, so snow in the lower elevations melted.
Above left: My hotel, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe was so rustic and cozy. Above right: here is the friendly Grizzly Bear I encountered while walking on the grounds of the Hyatt.
The "Heavenly Gondola" Ride

Above: The Heavenly Mountain Resort has their "Heavenly Gondola", which takes passengers up to 10,000 feet.

Above: The gondola ride was 45 minutes up and back, although passengers may disembark and go hiking at the top of the mountain, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Lake and surrounding area.
Above: At the higher elevations, there were still patches of snow remaining.
Above: At the top of the Heavenly Gondola ride, I had a glimpse of a few ski trails of the Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort. It made me want to come back in January to hit the slopes! Since tomorrow is "Wisdom Wednesday", Dr Wang will be here tomorrow. The third and final segment of this series will wrap up on Thursday, when I'll take you on a tour of the actual Lake Tahoe itself! Hope you can join me on Thursday!

  1. I want to go there someday. I wanna do some trout fishing in that lake and then hit some casinos at night.
