This week's Sunday Art Review features the paintings of Palm Springs favorite and legendary singer Tony Bennett, painting as Anthony Benedetto. Tony Bennett is a friend to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, having spent a great deal of time here with friends, and also supporting a range of charities, including the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament. I was fortunate to spend some time with Tony Bennett in Palm Springs last year when he was the headline performer for the annual fundraiser for the McCallum Theatre, our local performing arts center. Tony still has an incredible voice, and tremendous stage presence. He is also a prolific artist with a paintbrush. Today I am featuring his collection of Palm Springs pieces, inspired during his visits to our beautiful desert. All photographs are from Tony's website.
I guess some people are just dripping with all kinds of talent. Thanks for sharing, this was very interesting.

ReplyDeleteWhat excellent work! I can almost hear the music emitting from the artwork.
ReplyDeleteTony Bennett is classic. Unfortunately, there are too few "celebrities" we can say that about.
ReplyDeleteI never would have known Tony to have been such an artist. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSee you learn something new everyday..I never knew Tony B was into creating art! How talented...
ReplyDeleteI need to get my son enrolled in art class-maybe that will improve his singing voice? :)
