After the open house event, we stopped by my newest favorite restaurant in Palm Springs, Tropicale, which I've written about enough that they owe me at least a darn glass of wine by now!
above: the restaurant has a very large mural above the bar, with an interesting Polynesian style scene. It is a focal point of the restaurant, adding character and style to the bar area. The restaurant was quite busy, so we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar for awhile. I chatted with the Mayor over dinner, he had received his own "star" on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars earlier in the day, so this was his celebration dinner. My meal was delicious, John and I tried a few new dishes:
LOOK AT THAT PIZZA.
ReplyDeleteGOOD GOD THAT LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD.
I love that style of art, its so colorful and catches the eye.
ReplyDeleteWAT- yes! the pizza was so good! You need to make the drive from LA one of these days
ReplyDeleteWow, that pizza looks so incredibly yummy!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey ought to give you a dinner on the house for all of your wonderful photos and praise.
ReplyDeleteI'm going out to dinner with you if I'm ever in Palm Springs! You go to the most fabulous places!
ReplyDeleteIt seems every other time I come here you make me hungry. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gift idea you left on my blog. It was a very good idea. I stopped by to read your blog. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteReal Live Lesbian- well anytime you want, just let me know, I know all the fun places in Palm Springs.
ReplyDeleteWhimsical- Glad to hear I can make you drool so easily!
I served a salmon tartar at this weekend's party but not many people accepted it. They said it was a texture thing.
ReplyDeleteTo that I say, "Whatever".
Mags- good on ya! I like Tuna tartare, and I am usually squeamish about such things. How I wish we could cook together sometime!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Restaurant and they are doing a great job of the food.....just beware of the host, he is going to chase off people right and left with his bitchy incompetence. If you can sneak by him, chances are you are going to have a great experience!
ReplyDeleteYou'd make a great food writer and restaurant critic Rick. Just looking at those photos made me feel hungry. Sounds like a great restaurant.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Merry Christmas to you and John. Blogger is playing up this afternoon so not sure if some of my comments went through.
