For day two of Rick's Roadshow, I was in Boston for a brief afternoon and evening. I drove south from New Hampshire into Massachusetts to meet some business colleagues for dinner. Luckily the traffic wasn't too bad, and I had some time before dinner to walk around the city and take a few photos. I know my way around here fairly well, my brother lived in Boston back in the mid 80's and I used to visit him all the time. Then in the early 90's when I worked for Fanny Farmer Candies, I used to work in Boston. It was good to be back, even if it was just for a few hours.

above: a bad photo of the Zakim Bridge at night. My camera doesn't take good photos at night, but it's still cool. I had a good time in Boston, as brief as it was. Today I am in Rhode Island, and then I fly back home to California to meet a cruise ship that is waiting for me...I can hardly wait, stay tuned.

Slowly catching up on my favorite bloggers stuff - just read your last five posts and really enjoyed them ALL very much - especially the pictures. Although --those darned food shots you put in from time to time -always make my mouth water and make me wish I had something even close to that appetizing nearby to munch on. I can feel the scale moving on upward as I type.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminded me of how much I love Boston. I've not been back to New England in a long time and a trip is overdue.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are gonna post some cruise ship pics?? Can't wait!!
I've never been to Boston, but it looks like so much fun. I watch Boston Legal all the time too!
ReplyDeleteThat last picture isa interesting anyway, Rick...Sometimes these accident-type-pictures are more fun than some regular shots! Wonderful shots of Boston!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Boston since the late 70s visiting relatives, so I was too young to remember - and they have since moved to Dallas. But this summer I won't be too far away, so it looks like it's nearly time for another visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a wonderful city.
ReplyDeleteI love the Zakim Bridge. I drive over it everyday to go to work and I love it at night when they shine the purple lights on it. With the backdrop of the city (on the way home)..it's one of my favorite views so far.
ReplyDeleteBawstun? You shoulda told Small & Big you wuz comin' our way. (Not sure where that typing dialect came from.) In my home, we refer to the Zakim Bridge as the Bondage Bridge. (Not sure where that originated from either.) I toured it when it was still in production. Hard hat, work boots, the whole nine yards.
