Update on Spike
Last year, on July 2nd, I wrote a post about a new cactus we purchased and planted in the front driveway. I asked readers to Name My New Cactus .
Bunnygirl suggested "Spike" which is the name I went with. Spike is doing well, growing quickly (well as fast as a cactus can) and lost his training sticks
Above left: Spike back on July 2nd. If you look closely you can see the top of cactus is below the ledge. Above right: Last week, in just a year, Spike has grown higher than the top of the ledge. All those cactus vitamins and warm sunshine seem to be working. Ahhhh the life of a cactus....

ReplyDeleteGo Spike, Go!
er, or is that Grow Spike, Grow!
?
Well, "Spike" is beauitiful! AND, very healthy looking, too. As you know my whole garden is Cactus and Succulants, and I am pretty sure I have a relative of 'Spike's" in my Garden...! I think these plants are like Living Sculpture. Actulally, not "Like"...They ARE living Sculpture.
ReplyDeleteNaomi will love him!
ReplyDeleteSpike? He doesn't look like a Spike at all, nope, not at all! :P
ReplyDeleteBut don't ask me why the name Betsy just popped into my head. Imagine, a cactus named Betsy.
spike is getting tall and lanky, but handsome nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what must it be like to even be a cactus I wonder.
