With the Thanksgiving holiday just a few days away, I was poking around the Internet for news and information pertaining to this iconic American holiday harvest festival. This became the inspiration for this week's Sunday Art Review: Thanksgiving in Focus. Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays, with strong memories dating back to my childhood. I'm fortunate because it's one of those holidays which I can merely close my eyes and my mind is flooded with pleasant memories. Family, friends and neighbors etched in my mind forever. Indeed, I am fortunate to have such fond memories of Thanksgiving. I chose to lead off this Sunday Art Review with a classic from Norman Rockwell. I hope you enjoy this collection. Good representations!
ReplyDeleteI like Rockwell and the cornucopia best!
Nothing is more iconic of the contemporary American experience than Norman Rockwell.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having fun at the Beach! Wiggle those toes in the sand for me.
:-D)
Hey! The first one eye-tricked me!
ReplyDeleteI like that!
WTH is that dog on that dish? I did a double take!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were just talking about what the Pilgrims were willing to risk that they gave thanks when half of their people had died that first year. What a brutal year they'd had yet still those who survived were grateful and thankful.
Can't say it is my favorie, but the one I've never seen b4--Turkey Gift Day. (and doggy dish...don't remember it like that...)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. My favorite? The Norman Rockwell one...priceless. It reminds me of my childhood.
