above: Sheldon loves to be outside on the patio, relaxing by the pool.
above: ...while Owen waits patiently by the door, inside wishing he could get outside to play. Aside from the heat, I don't want the cat outside, too many hungry hawks with sharp eyes.
above: Sheldon is such a social creature. He follows me around wherever I go in the house, and listens to everything I say. Sometimes I think he actually understands me.
above: Owen has a few other favorite spots in the house. This end table is handy for its proximity to the wild jungle-like plant.
above: Sheldon loves to sprawl out and relax, content with watching me blog away on my laptop.
above: When comfort comes first, Owen heads for his favorite side chair. This one has an especially comfortable spot on top, ideal for meditating and practicing mind control over humans. Funny thing is I think he is pretty good at it. I find myself mumbling "must open can of organic cat food for Owen...must open can or organic cat food for Owen...."

Well that's all for today. Hope you enjoyed this little post of Cats and Dogs.

I agree completely with your theory that pets -especially dogs and cats (Ok, I'm biased there, I know) do make our lives better, much, much better, in fact. And I loved that picture of Owen under that table. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute post! I know I've said this before, but I really miss not having a pet. I think that when I move in November I'll look for a place that lets me have a cat or small dog. Life is a lot less lonely with a furry friend!
ReplyDeletePets DO add so much to our lives. I would think that besides hawks, coyotes might be lurking around the dessert?
ReplyDeleteOur Azrielle is not an outside kitty--too many animals and diseases (and close proximity to a busy road).
how cute! they are social little things, aren' they?

The kids and I really miss having a dog. I especially do during the school months when I'm home alone. Our dog used to be "my dog" - she followed me everywhere and was always close by.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of Owen in his special, yet regal roost.
ReplyDeleteI think our pets DO understand us. And yes, they are family...
The best of both worlds, a gorgeous cat, and a gorgeous dog. Very sweet. I couldn't agree more, we have 3 dogs and I love to return home to such celebration!
ReplyDeleteCute pics. Yeah, I'm soon heading out to Palm Springs! I can feel it in my blood! It's hot as hell already though, but it's cool, I'm ready for my tan baby!
ReplyDeleteI agree - life is better with pets. I too had a cat that met me at the door when I returned from work. He also played fetch!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!! My life would be so lonely and boring with out my 2 gorgeous Brittanys!! Oh, I talk to them too - well not excpecting a response or anything! lol But they look and listen and turn their heads as if to say - I am listening!
ReplyDeletesuper great post.
Oh! I LOVE this post! I agree with you whole-heartedly too. Pets do make our lives better. Don't you just love all those special 'every day' moments with your canine and feline babies? I was walking to our mail box to get the mail and one of our cats was walking with me. Yes, our CAT was walking beside me! Isn't that funny? Pets have such distinct personalities. I can't imagine my life without our pets either.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love that Owen is the guard kitty! Too cute!
They are just soooooooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteOf our cats Mira is the one who either sits on the window staring at the road waiting or she is ready by the door when I come home :)
I enjoyed it very very much, Rick....Owen has such a great face! I love that these two play together...Isn't that sweet?
ReplyDeleteI love Owen and Sheldon stories--they are fabulous pets. I know they understand you, because I'm positive that my cats can understand me and the chilis too. :)
