All are among my favorite foods. We always buy organic when it's available. Unfortunately in our little burg, that's not always an option - unless the farmers markets are operating. We have to go to Austin to find year round organic produce. :(
ReplyDeleteI say "Yes!" to all but spinach. I like it, but it interferes with one of my medications. And I definitely say "YES!" to organic.
ReplyDeleteNow, pass those blueberries and raspberries, wouldya?
We eat organic when we can afford it and we pick all kinds of seasonal fruits at farms around our home.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of links between early puberty in girls and hormones in chicken and milk products. That's one reason that we've tried switching to organics whenever possible.
I must admit, it doesn't always look this good at our house. But, I also have to say, many times it does. I try to put as many veggies and fruit in every single dish I prepare as I can. Even the pics look yummy!
ReplyDeleteOrganic Twinkies! LOL j/k
ReplyDeleteHow do you make your blog smell so good? I swear your blog comes with scent! Can smell these delicious fruits and vegetables!
I usually buy in bulk, but you know that I have to! I cannot afford to buy organic food-- my household food budget exceeds $1,000 as it is! In the summer I buy food from the local u-pick farms that tend to be organic. We are also doing our own garden this year.
I remember going down to San Diego and how fresh California smelled to me 12 years ago. It was -40 where I live and I went from frozen wasteland to pregnant lemon trees! I kept breathing in as much as I could. . . this post makes me happy!
Rick,
ReplyDeleteYou know me and my love of veggies! I have the same issue as Seamus, I'd definitely buy more organic food if I had it more of it available to me. I also found these organic chicken breasts which aren't any more expensive than regular chicken breasts--they are low fat AND cook up really nicely! We eat tons of fresh foods and veggies because of my lacking kitchen skills! They're so easy since they are just cut, serve, and eat!! :) (I am getting better though :) )
And Dr. Weir sounds like a fabulous guy!! I'm so glad you had such an enjoyable weekend!!

All great choices Rick. I also love to buy local as much as possible. Boy do I really miss the two farmers markets we had year round in Alabama. I am hoping the local market will get going soon here in Missouri. I found a grower for organic rocket--my new favorite salad green.
ReplyDeleteyummyyyyyyyyyyy love them all...now I am hungry..lmao
ReplyDeleteThese are all foods I love Rick! All full of health-giving properties!
ReplyDeleteI ate exclusively organic for 2 decades (living in San Francisco) and then I moved to Palm Springs. Thud. There is one "Health Food" store here...and it is a bit of a joke. The shelves are nearly bare most of the time, and the veggie selection is very limited and usually of such poor quality I wouldn't feed them to my dog (yes, that bad...limp, bruised, even rotten).
ReplyDeleteShout out to Whole Foods...the valley will support a store. Please, Please, Please consider.
