An Evening in Beverly Hills with My Famous Author Friend

I was in Beverly Hills recently to visit one of my "famous author friends" who was in LA for a few weeks. She was staying at the beautiful Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons, a stunning hotel with remarkable attention to detail at every turn. I've always liked this particular hotel; the last time I was there was for Easter Brunch many years ago. When I walked in the lobby, there was a beautiful arrangement of fresh white lillies in a huge urn. I paused to admire the amazingly fragrant flowers, which made me smile. Fresh flowers usually make me happy, and these were no exception.

Dinner with my famous author friend...
That evening we went to dinner at the hip and trendy new "Comme Ca" restaurant on Melrose Avenue. It's a nostalgic restaurant with French brasserie-style dishes like "soupe a l´oignon gratinĂ©e", "moules frites" and "paleron of beef bourguignon". While the place was packed and busy all night long, we had good service and delicious food. I ended up having "beef stroganoff" which was out of this world! After dinner, my "famous author friend" and I relaxed with a glass of wine in the lounge of her hotel and people-watched for awhile. It turned out to be a wonderful evening and a lot of fun. I told her that we should write a book together someday...maybe we will.

  1. sounds like you had a nice time-I'm trying to figure out who your famous author friend is. I am fascinated by your life, the things you do, the places you go and the people you meet. I guess that's why I keep coming back everyday.
