above: looking south, you can see a surfer walking along the beach.
above: not an especially great photo, but I just liked the way the sun was reflecting on the water.
above: this was the restaurant where I had lunch. We sat at a table under these umbrellas for shade and enjoyed the sunny day at the beach. Maybe next time I'll take some photos of the more scenic areas of La Jolla. Hope your week is going well, and thanks for stopping by today.

Next time we head out that way, it's my mission to visit La Jolla. So many people love it there, and I'd like to be included!

Mmmm....This blog reminded me of George's on the Cove. One of my favorite places to eat as the sun sets.
ReplyDeleteYour pronunciation guide crakced me up. Dad used to joke with me growing up by pronouncing it the other way (he was trying to be funny).
ReplyDeleteThanks for evoking a fun memory!
The last picture is my favorite. So beautiful! I hope you are well!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE La Jolla, too, Rick....It is such a very pretty area....And a lot going on there, too! I think your pictures are lovely, by the way....The Beach looks so inviting and empty....lol...I think I would like that Best! Walking on a beach that isn't crowded....!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the beach looking north and the shadows on the rocks.
ReplyDeleteWe visited San Diego on a vacation once, and we went down to a beach where sea lions were lying all over the beach. We went down to take some photos and I almost sat down on one, thinking it was a rock. It was only my guardian angel that made me stop halfway in squat! Still wonder what would have happened otherwise.
I went to La Jolla when I was pregnant with #3. My life was a mess and my mom sent me there to see my best friend. I gained 10 pounds from the restaurants and the January sun was healing to me. I swam on the beach and people were going to my friend, "Uh-- does your friend know it's cold in the ocean?" My friend said, "It's -40 in Alaska."
ReplyDeleteWe shopped at a place called Mistral and I bough she body butter there-- it was just making a splash on US markets!
Thanks for the post.
i know this is unpopular to say but i don't like LaJolla!
ReplyDeleteI like sunlight rippling on water also. What are the dots in the sky?
ReplyDeleteI was in LaJolla many years ago, but not to the beach. We went to La Costa for 4 days.
ReplyDeleteI just love a beach, it does not matter where it is :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, LOVE THAT PAINTING. Did you paint that, Rick? You did? Blindfolded and drunk on blueberry margaritas? You got some talent there, sir.
ReplyDeleteLA JOLLA should be LA JOYA, which means THE JEWEL en espaƱol. A little useless fact I thought I'd share to your purty post.
