Sunday Art Review: Lent in Art
Welcome to The Sunday Art Review: Lent in Art. That's a little play on word there folks (say it fast, it sounds like Lenten Art). Anyway, without forcing my own religious beliefs on you, gentle reader I present a relatively non-offensive Sunday Art Review of art with a theme around the season of Lent. I can't believe we're already gearing up for Easter, another year is just flying by. Where does the time go to? OK so back to this week's Sunday Art Review. Some of it is a bit of a stretch, but just go with it. The painting top left is Lenten Roses,by Kirsten Soderlind. Enjoy!
that little town looks a little like the caribbean, like the dutch side of st. maartin...

the roses are really lovely. and i have always enjoyed the bruegel piece just to sit and look at all the action going on.
ReplyDeleteI love the streetscape.
ReplyDeleteEven though I'm not really religious, I'm giving up eating for Lent and hopefully for a few weeks after Easter as well.
ReplyDeletePS Thanks for the kind words the other day.
I give up Lent for Lent, is that allowed? Thanks for sharing culture and beauty with us all again!
ReplyDeleteA lovely group of paintings, Rik. I particularly like the first one and The Bruegel The Elder and The Rembrandt! The "light" in all of Rembrandt's work is always astounding!
