I think our pets do understand us and the language we speak. I know one of my granddogs does. When I say something silly or slightly off-kilter (using humor), she cocks her head in such a way to say, "Really?"
I completely agree! I found your blog via Pinterest and I have a black standard poodle as well. I completely fell in love with the breed; they are truly wonderful dogs and they DO understand :) All by best!
