#Dog Speed Dating in #DNCE video #KissingStrangers feat Nicki Minaj

Long time readers of this blog know that I love my dogs. Sheldon, Miss Ellie and Adele bring so much love and happiness. Anyone who has a dog in their life at one time or another has envisioned their dog acting almost human-like. We tend to project human traits and mindsets on our pets, perhaps to relate, but it is also just good old plain fun.
There is a new music video "Kissing Strangers" by the popular dance-rock group 'DNCE" that features dogs in a speed-dating type event. They are all having fun, being silly and enjoying life. The song is catchy and has a good beat. DNCE consists of members Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee and features Nicki Minaj.

The connection here is that in this lyric video, DNCE gave Lucy Pet some cool plugs throughout with some banners and things like that. Its a lighthearted easy song and fun to imagine what dogs would be like on a speed date. I especially like the pink standard poodle who catches the eyes of all the male dogs in the video. That pink poodle is supposed to be Nicki Minaj, which you will see as she starts her vocals in the song. Dog lovers especially will enjoy this music video:

The Superzoo Trade Show in Las Vegas

The past few days I've been in Fabulous Las Vegas attending the Annual Superzoo Trade Show. Some of you may recall my post last year about the Superzoo show. This show is geared only for the pet trade, and is closed to the public, so it is all business and very little fluff like consumer pet shows. While at the show I ran into my good friend Harrison Forbes, host of the nationally syndicated radio show Pet Talk. Harrison was promoting his brand new book "Dog Talk", which is hitting bookstores nationwide on September 30th. Harrison gave me an autographed copy, which I have already started to read. I'll write a review about it in a week or so. In the photo above, I'm with Harrison in his Pet Talk booth. I predict great things for Harrison over the next 12-18 months, he is a really talented guy.
The Return of The Painted Poodles
Last year I wrote a post about a bizarre cult of Painted Poodles with the strangest hair colors. This year, the painted poodles were back at Superzoo:
above: This standard poodle has pink hair and purple tufts- kind of a cross between punk rock and glamour fur.
above: This one is just indescribable.

above: Just when you thought you had seen it all. This Poodle had been groomed with nothing but a stripe of hair to look like it was a giant snake wrapped around the body. Then the groomer painted the hair to look like a snake. It is weird looking but very realistic. My Sheldon isn't ever going to look like that, I can assure you. It was a great show with plenty of interesting sights as usual.

Painted Poodles at Superzoo

This week I'm attending the Superzoo Show in Las Vegas for a few days. Superzoo is a national trade show for the pet industry and includes a significant presence of dog groomers. Trade shows in Vegas are always interesting because they rarely start early. Attendees often sleep late after a long, late night out on the town. Anyway, at the show yesterday I couldn't help but notice all the Poodles that were there, particularly those that had their hair dyed. It was a bizarre scene, but after awhile it started to look normal! This one to the left, with just pink accents seemed wild and over-the-top, until I ran into these others below. And after these, I stopped taking photos of them. Ah yes, the pet industry sure is interesting.

Above right: Well these three weren't painted, but were polite so I just had to take their picture.
