TV Personality Randy Jackson Teams Up with Lucy Pet -- “The Dawg” is Doing Something Good for the Dogs

Randy partners with 3-time EMMY® winning TV host and dog trainer Brandon McMillan who joins Lucy Pet’s goal to help pets live a healthier life
LOS ANGELES--()--Randy Jackson and Brandon McMillan have joined forces to bring breakthrough nutrition to dogs and cats with Lucy Pet Products Formulas for Life™ pet foods. Randy and Brandon are headlining a campaign to launch sales on Amazon and Chewy.com and in select stores across the country.
“I love dogs… they are an important part of my family and give unconditional love,” said Randy Jackson. “Keeping pets healthy with the best food possible is everything, and I’ve recently learned that prebiotics are very important in helping dogs and cats live a healthier life. These formulas were developed by the leading expert in gut health, Dr. George C. Fahey, and I truly believe that Lucy Pet Formulas for Life™ are the best you can do for your pet.”

Brandon McMillan added, “I have a training ranch where over a hundred dogs pass through every year. I've been feeding Lucy Pet Formulas for Life™ food to every one of them for over a year, and the dogs have thrived. They love it and I love it because I know they are getting great nutrition. Good nutrition is a vital and very underrated element to a dog's behavior and brain function while being trained. What’s also important to me is that the sales of these foods help support the Lucy Pet Foundation, which has performed over 21,000 free spay and neuters in low income areas. Lucy Pet helps reduce pet overpopulation and the needless euthanasia of over 60,000 dogs and cats a week in the United States.”
Together Jackson and McMillan said, “We are proud to be associated with this cause and Lucy Pet because it’s the real deal… real ingredients…and Products with a Cause that truly saves animals lives.”
Randy Jackson is a business entrepreneur who spans beyond music and entertainment. His successful career
as an A&R executive also includes producer and music manager. He became a household name as a talent judge on television for 13 seasons. Jackson became a partner at Lucy Pet because he was inspired by the Lucy Pet Foundation. He wanted to create a movement for truth, transparency and higher quality pet food for better health of animals.

In 2012 he co-founded The Argus Service Dog Foundation, a non-profit that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to become highly trained service dogs for disabled veterans. This can often be seen on his 3-time EMMY AWARD® winning television series ‘Lucky Dog’ on CBS. Brandon is also a trainer to some of Hollywood's top A-listers. Some of Brandon’s extensive list of private training clients include: Ellen DeGeneresAndy Cohen, James Caan and Kate Hudson.
“We are very excited to have Randy and Brandon join Lucy Pet to bring our Formulas for Life™ to pet lovers,” said Joey Herrick, President and Founder of Lucy Pet. “These foods have breakthrough nutritional advancements and will actually help pets build a stronger immune system to stay active and have overall better health. Their bodies will have long-term health benefits from a healthy gut, especially as they age.”

A Night At The American Idol Season Finale

On Wednesday I had the privilege of attending the live broadcast of the American Idol season finale in Los Angeles. I've been watching Idol all season and was really excited to be at the show in person. I was the guest of Paula Abdul, who looked absolutely stunning. We arrived on the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in time for the press photos and interviews. As Paula made her way down the line of reporters, I mingled with a myriad of A-list celebrities as they arrived on the red carpet; Steve Martin, Heather Locklear, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Fergie, The Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Ritchie, Cyndi Lauper, David Archuletta, Carlos Santana and Ryan Seacrest just to name a few.

above: the paparazzi were packed tight along the red carpet. The noise from their shouting constantly was insane. The only reason they took my picture was because I was walking with Paula Abdul and later with Carrie Underwood.

above: Carrie Underwood was so sweet; we briefly chatted as we made our way down the red carpet together.
Kris Allen becomes the new American Idol
In case you didn't see the finale, it was a star-studded, action-packed show. It featured performances by Queen Latifah, Carlos Santana, Fergie, The Black Eyed Peas, Rod Stewart, Kiss, Queen, Keith Urban, Lionel Ritchie, Cyndi Lauper, and Steve Marton.
above: Cameras were strictly forbidden inside the Nokia Theatre. I sneaked just one photo at the very end, right after Kris Allen was announced as the winner of American Idol season 8. Kris is on stage in the middle, hugging the girl in yellow.
Then Onto The After Party...

above: the American Idol logo was beamed onto the side of the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood.
above: First I went to the Fox after party, and later the VIP party that went late into the early hours on Thursday morning. It was packed with celebrities galore, and just about every American Idol contestant from prior seasons. I chatted with Blake Lewis and Michael Johns while enjoying some delicious Ahi Tartare.
Some New Photos for My Sidebar...

May is National Guide Dog Month

For regular readers, I did warn you that I would be blogging a lot about guide dogs, after all, May is National Guide Dog Month. Today seemed like a good day to write another post about this fundraising effort. Keep in mind that 100% of the money raised will go directly to accredited, non-profit guide dog schools across the country. My company has teamed up with American Idol judge Paula Abdul and Dick Van Patten to raise awareness and money to support guide dog schools. (In this photo above left are Dick Van Patten, Paula Abdul and Jimmy Van Patten, with two guide dogs). There are three easy ways you can help:
1) Visit any Pet Co store and make a donation at the register in any amount.
2) Make a donation online in any amount- it's easy enough to do right now in fact!
3) Buy any specially marked bag of Natural Balance dog food with a sticker of Paula Abdul on it, and 50 cents for each bag sold goes to the guide dog schools.
Check out this video of Paula Abdul and Dick Van Patten about this Guide Dog fundraiser:

Thanks for watching these videos. Please take a moment to check out this info and make a donation, even just $5 would help.

Hanging Out With Paula Abdul

This past weekend I had an exceptionally busy schedule. It was a blend of business and pleasure, interwoven very closely but even the work aspect was enjoyable. Regular readers of this blog know that I avoid discussing my professional life because this is a personal blog. That being said, there are aspects of the weekend that were personal/social and therefore I can write about them here on my own blog. I am fiercely protective and respectful of certain friendships I have with high profile people. I tend to only share photos and stories that occur in public; you will notice that I rarely share photos of private dinners, etc. John happened to take these photos of me and Paula Abdul yesterday while at a graduation ceremony at The Guide Dogs of the Desert in Palm Springs. In this first photo, Paula is holding her adorable Chihuahua, "Bessie Moo".

Paula is such a sweet and intelligent person, very genuine and warm too.
above: we stopped for a quick photo and shared a few laughs.

above: After the event was finished, crowds of fans surrounded Paula as she slowly made her way out of the building. She graciously posed for photos and signed autographs for quite awhile. Outside, a security guard directs Paula's limo, clearing the way from a crowd of people (not visible in this photo). It was an enjoyable day with Paula. She'll always be Forever My Girl.

American Idol: Farewell Gina Glocksen

Quick post today. I cannot BELIEVE that Gina Glocksen got voted off of American Idol last night. Are the American people CRAZY? There are so many others that should have gone before Gina. hmmm..how about Sanjaya??? I think Gina has a career ahead of her and deserves to make it big. Good Luck Gina!
