Thought I'd have a bit of fun with a trivia question. I'll leave the comments open for 24 hours and see if anyone responds with a guess. No cheating please.
What do Charo and Xavier Cugat have in common?
Leave a comment with your guess and I'll publish all the responses at once, in 24 hours from now.
Thanks!

I won't lie. I can't claim to know the answer to this trivia questions, but I am curious to find out what it is they had in common. All I know is that they were married and he was A LOT older than her. Right?

Without cheating, I think Charo was married to him wasn't she? No, wait. He trained her how to play guitar, or got her started in showbiz. Something like that.

Funny you mention Charo, because another blog I frequently visit just talked about her too. She is quite a character, a fantastic icon of sorts. Who doesn't love Charo, she is just too damn hilarious not to.

And she was IF NOT STILL considered one of the greatest Spanish guitarists alive. No small feat man. Born in Murcia, España baby!

¡Esta legendaria mujer guapa y muy española!

THe were husband and wife in the....

Although Charo would have rather jumped off the Empire State Building than have sex with Cugat...

Nothing more than a professional marriage to bring in the teenage sensation to America as the last featured front lady to Cugat's already decades long career as the Rumba King.

María del Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza married Xavier Cugat on August 7, 1966.

Her trademarked "cuchi, cuchi" comes from her nickname for her childhood dog. Charo says: "I was 3 years old, and I had a dog called “Cuchillo” (Spanish for “knife”), and when Cuchillo was happy, he wiggled. When I was very young I copied him, and I used to say 'como Cuchi, como Cuchi' - like Cuchi, like Cuchi. Everybody thought that it was very cute when I wiggled and said ‘cuchi-cuchi,’ and they gave me cookies and candy. Now, every time I say ‘cuchi-cuchi,’ people give me money."
