Anyone Remember the TV Show Hotel?

For some crazy reason, last night I had a flashback to 1983 when a new TV show called "Hotel" premiered on ABC as a movie special. It was a new soap opera set in the fictitious yet elegant St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco. The story was based on the popular novel "Hotel" by Arthur Hailey. The premier featured a mega all store cast, including James Brolin, Connie Selleca, Anne Baxter, Bette Davis, Morgan Fairchild, Mel Torme, Shari Belafonte, Shirley Jones, and Erin Moran, among others. I remember really liking this show a lot when it first came out. It started an early fascination with grand old hotels that has continued to this day. Hotel was kind of a cross between The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Dynasty and Dallas, all rolled into one. I thought I'd show two YouTube clips from the premier episode movie. If you want to watch all of it, the rest of the episodes are all there on YouTube to view! I hope you enjoy this flashback:

and here below is part 2...

I hope you enjoyed these two clips....and the flashback

Wow, what a trip down memory lane. I haven't thought about "Hotel" in years! I think I only watched it a few times. My heart still belonged to "Dallas" at that point.

I don't recall this show at all -must have been before we got an ABC network channel on our cable set-up here. We went for many years without any ABC channels so I missed out on a whole lot of stuff back then. (As a kid, the only channel we could receive -no cable at all then -was the CBS channel about 50 miles away -reception was terrible then, mostly snow and static but since that's all that was available, we strained our eyes trying to make out images in the snow.

Didn't watch much TV in '80s. The '80s are a blur for me, but it looks interesting.

I just adore Bette Davis! I didn't know she had acted in a serial before entering movies.

Um, Jessica, you do realize that the TV show "Hotel" was at the end of Bette Davis's acting career, right? She was quite old when she appeared in this tv show.
