Even though I was a Wham! chick back in the day, I don't remember ever seeing that video. I think George Michael was the first of a very long line of gay men I had horrible, heart-breaking crushes on.
Judy Garland....that's my fav on your list.
what about Sleigh Ride or My favorite Things? love those two songs. fun post
Sunshine- funny you should say that, I had never seen that video either, but was thrilled to find it on You Tube today!
Jackie- Sligh Ride is a good one too
with out a doubt,, my all time favorite is "father christmas" by the kinks.....
i am partial to manheim steamroller at christmas, something about their sound i just love!
smiles, bee
oneof my favorites is Rockin ARound the Christmas Tree with Brenda Lee too, it always takes me back to the "teenage years".
an oldie but a goodie is baby it's cold outside
I think I prefer Frank Sintra's version of White Christmas over Bing Crosby. I am also a Dean Martin fan, he sang some great Christmas tunes.
Miss Bee- yes good one, the Manheim Steamrollers are wonderful.
Marlupe- good call on Frank...can't say I disagree.
i do love 'baby it's cold outside.'
i wanted to hear your sting selection since i was unfamiliar with it but for some reason it doesn't want to play for me.
Christmas is not Christmas without Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby. But especially Nat...
Starting dinner at 10pm is very Continental but also very crazy. What time did the restaurant close?
Have you ever eaten beef carpaccio Italian style with rock salt, olive oil, black pepper, rocket (arugula?) leaves?
Those japanese sauces are delicious, I love what they do with the sesame flavour.
My favorite Christmas songs:
Mary Did You Know? by Kathy Mattea
Where Are You, Christmas? by Faith Hill
Do You Hear What I Hear? by anyone....but I really (still) like the Andy Williams version
Do They Know it's Christmas?
egads -- I just realized I've got a thing for question songs....perhaps I need therapy?
oops -- more questions....
:)
All good choices, especially White Christmas. I love Bing Crosby.
I think you know mine. ;-)
Linked you back. Thanks.
airplanejayne- I completely forgot about "Do They Know its Christmas"...good addition.
Whimsical- yep Bing was a cool dude
The "White Christmas" clip is from one of my favorite Christmas movies: "Holiday Inn".
But you forgot the Charlie Brown Christmas music!
XO,
J.
Love your choice of Christmas Songs. I have some playing on my blog but I couldn't find White Christmas by Bing - my favourite Christmas song of all time.
I totally love the judy garland and bing crosby clips...I could just listen to them over and over again...they make me feel so peaceful...
thanks for sharing...and for the smiles...
The Peanuts Xmas song is superb. John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War is Over), if only Yoko didn't ruin it with her horrid voice. The Chipmunks singing their Xmas song is too cute.
And last but not least, my final fav Xmas song is on my latest blog post thanks to YouTube.
Oh...I love Judy Garland's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas...that movie is one of my all time favorites!
Everybody Has To Work On Christmas Sometimes-Harvey Danger
This Christmas-Donny Hathaway
Walking Around In Womens Underwear-Bob Rivers
I love White Christmas. It's one of my all time favourite films Rick. Love the song too. I also like Last Christmas and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Great festive songs!
