The Saturday Seven: My Favorite Christmas Songs

Well, it's that time of year for all things Christmas, and I've been shuffling the ole iPod to my Christmas tunes. There are some songs that I love, and could listen to over and over. Now, it would be difficult to make a short list of my favorite ones, but I like herculean tasks from time to time, so decided that is exactly what I would do for this week's scintillating edition of: The Saturday Seven: My Favorite Christmas Songs
#1 The Christmas Song, by Nat King Cole

#2 The Most Wonderful Time of The Year, Johnny Mathis or Andy Williams

#3 Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Judy Garland
#4 Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, Brenda Lee

#5 Last Christmas, Wham!

#6 Santa Claus is Coming to Town, The Beach Boys

#7 White Christmas, Bing Crosby

Bonus Entries #1 Mele Kalikimaka, Bette Midler

Bonus Entry #2 Gabriel's Message, Sting

Even though I was a Wham! chick back in the day, I don't remember ever seeing that video. I think George Michael was the first of a very long line of gay men I had horrible, heart-breaking crushes on.

Judy Garland....that's my fav on your list.

I think I prefer Frank Sintra's version of White Christmas over Bing Crosby. I am also a Dean Martin fan, he sang some great Christmas tunes.

Miss Bee- yes good one, the Manheim Steamrollers are wonderful.

Marlupe- good call on Frank...can't say I disagree.

i wanted to hear your sting selection since i was unfamiliar with it but for some reason it doesn't want to play for me.

Christmas is not Christmas without Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby. But especially Nat...

Starting dinner at 10pm is very Continental but also very crazy. What time did the restaurant close?

Have you ever eaten beef carpaccio Italian style with rock salt, olive oil, black pepper, rocket (arugula?) leaves?
Those japanese sauces are delicious, I love what they do with the sesame flavour.

Mary Did You Know? by Kathy Mattea

Where Are You, Christmas? by Faith Hill

Do You Hear What I Hear? by anyone....but I really (still) like the Andy Williams version

Do They Know it's Christmas?

egads -- I just realized I've got a thing for question songs....perhaps I need therapy?
oops -- more questions....

The "White Christmas" clip is from one of my favorite Christmas movies: "Holiday Inn".

But you forgot the Charlie Brown Christmas music!

The Peanuts Xmas song is superb. John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War is Over), if only Yoko didn't ruin it with her horrid voice. The Chipmunks singing their Xmas song is too cute.

And last but not least, my final fav Xmas song is on my latest blog post thanks to YouTube.
