A Quiet Night at Home...

A lot of my posts are about things I do and places I go: dining at gourmet restaurants, attending swank cocktail parties, visiting elegant hotels, and mingling with celebrities. But today I thought I'd share another side of my life: a quiet night at home. Yes, believe it or not, I do spend time at home. Some nights, there are no black-tie affairs or exciting events. Take for instance, last night. It was a quiet evening at home watching American Idol, with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But not just any PB&J sandwich, it was an Organic PB&J sandwich of course! (would you expect anything less? My laptop was just within reach, allowing me to alternate between TV, Internet, and the blog.

My Secret Recipe:

Above: Organic whole wheat bread, organic strawberry preserves, and organic peanut butter.

Above: Smear it all together and, voila! The perfect organic PB&J sandwich.
So I had a nice quiet evening at home. Me, my dog Koshimi, my cat Owen, Dr Wang, American Idol and my delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich. See, I am a regular guy.

that just brings a smile to my face and warms my heart. And it is also a relief to know that my own life isn't so dull. At least I had a ham sandwich for dinner last night!

A regular guy...who has flashy, famous friends, and who attends flashy, glamorous parties. *grin*

I love PB&J. It's one of the best comfort foods.

Nice try, buddy.. but I'm not buying it until you start taking pics of the Del Taco wrappers on the floor of your car and the little sauce packets in the ashtray.

Can I come over? You make a hella PB&J.

One of my perfect evenings, I must say. Dorothy said it best: There's no place like home.

Sounds like a great way to spend an evening Rick. I love peanut butter too and always buy the organic variety.

By the way what date in May are you travelling to England?

I've recently discovered that I can eat peanut butter again, since Smart Balance came out with theirs. I always eat it on whole wheat, with whatever jam is around, but I prefer grape. It's a little bit of heaven to savor a good peanut butter sandwich!

Thanks for answering my question.

How would peanut butter be IN-organic?

Like if it had polypropylene in it or something?

I hate to admit this now but I ate one of those pre-made frozen PB&J's. Hanging my head in shame.

Zen Wizard- What makes it organic is that it does not have any pesticides, chemicals, artifical colors, preservatives, growth-hormones,antibiotics or genetically modified ingredients. You'd be surprised how much of our supply chain is infiltrated with all that stuff....

I wouldn't eat a PB&J on any other kind of bread. Glad we are seeing more organics available.

I'll bet you still looked dashing eating that PB & J sandwich!

Do you suggest a wine to go with that?

Nope, I would expect nothing less than Organic PB and J. :) Hehe!

I am actually planning a super bummy weekend with the chilis, no stress, just whatever we want to do when we want to do it. I only have one errand I need to do and the rest of the weekend, we are totally vegging out. I feel relaxed just thinking about it. :)

Nice to see a "regular guy" side of you. I was feeling intimidated.
