Dining in La Jolla @ La Valencia Hotel

Here is yet another post for all you "foodies" out there...
Saturday night I had dinner at the Mediterranean Room on the Tropical Patio at La Valencia Hotel, in La Jolla, which is along the coast just north of San Diego. La Valencia is an elegant and historic luxury hotel, with lush landscaping and beautiful vistas of the Pacific Ocean. The hotel lobby and public areas just drip with character and charm. It's one of my favorite spots for lunch too.

Above: The Lobby of La Valencia Hotel...oh so beautiful

Above left: Looking down at the hotel pool & above right: my table was set beautifully with fresh flowers from the hotel gardens.
A Salad to Start...

Above: Insalata Caprese: Vine ripe tomato, fresh mozzarella, shaved garlic, red onion, mango puree, basil, avocado oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
The Entrees...

Above left: Oven Roasted Free Range Organic Chicken with roasted turned potatoes, baby steamed vegetables and au jus & above right: Pan Seared fresh Salmon with apple slaw and bar-b-que sauce.

Above: the magnificent Seafood Buffet: Lobster, Jumbo Shrimp, & Scallops
And then some Dessert...

We were too full to order dessert, but our waiter graciously brought a platter of desserts as a sampler. Chocolate cake, Key Lime Pie, Napoleons, and Creme Brulee. Yum. It was a delicious dinner and a fantastic evening.

note: just for the record, this is not a paid post. I just like to write about places I go to eat!

Looks like you had a wonderful dinner. I'm a bit puzzled by the addition of mango to the insalata caprese. Was that actually good? Guess I'm too much of a purest. Nice photos too.

I recently returned from a week in Coronado, but my eating preferences are very much unlike yours. I'm a Philistine by comparison...
