The Saturday Seven: Favorite Super Heros

Reading the news this morning there were several stories of all sorts of bad things happening to good people. I wondered why society inherently has these issues. Instead, I found my mind wandering and I thought, wouldn't it be great if we had some good old fashioned super heroes to swoop in and save the day? Life just seemed so much more simple when I was a kid. There was always some evil, menacing bad guy who was plotting to take over the world, but he was always thwarted by someone in tights. Now, I have not watched Saturday morning cartoons in forever, but there was no finer example of this than on the Super Friends. Which brings me to another scintillating edition of The Saturday Seven: Favorite Super Heroes
#1: The Dynamic Duo: Batman and Robin

#2 Wonder Woman...oh yeah!
#3: Its a bird, its a plane, it's...Superman!
#4: Aquaman- if only he could fly he would have been my hands down favorite
#6 The Amazing Spiderman
#7 The Flash
Bonus: Bat Girl, she kicked ass

I am two posts behind :o) Just to tell you I got to your blog from Mona's blog (in India). I am a Chilean living in the US, Baltimore to be more specific. Isn't the world small? So, I saw your post and pictures of Baltimore... excellent pictures, did you take them? Well, anyway to answer your question about the tower, it was being converted into an artist condo building where they could display works and also live. In the past, was originally built to promote a product; unfortunately, can't remember the product now, but it had a huge clock with the advertised name on top of the tower. It is not as old as the architecture seems to imply -it was a disappointment for me to lear this when I did ... but that's the story behind the tower. Happy travels in Las Vegas!

I don't know why, but when I was a kid, I thought Robin was cute. He was supposed to be Batman's little sex toy, right? Work with me here... it was my fantasy.

Nice post Rick!

so glad you included WW and BG...the girlies always get left out of super heroes when you boys talk about them.

Does Xena, Warrior Princess count? Because every time I'm in a jam, I find myself asking, "What would Xena do?":)

I would have to say Superman was my favorite. You are right though.....things used to be a lot simpler. Sometimes watching the news is enough to send you over the edge!

Have you read the Watchmen graphic novel? It sounds like just what you need: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen

It won a Hugo Award and gets discussed in college lit classes. Superheroes for grownups!

I used to love watching Linda Carter in Wonderwoman - I always wanted a figure like hers!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment, I hope you'll return. :)

What about the Wonder Twins? A teenage brother and sister duo who could turn into anything by hitting their fists together ("Wonder Twin powers...activate!"). Although I think the brother could only be anything that was a form of water, i.e., ice, icicles, waterfalls, etc.
