The Saturday Seven: Memorable TV Characters from Way Back

Living in Palm Springs, I am frequently reminded of Hollywood celebrities or actors who have retired to Palm Springs or just come here to visit and get away. In fact, there is a certain "special" Hollywood movie actor who lives just a block away from my home. I have seen him out and about in his golf cart-but since this is not a gossip site I am hesitant to name drop....although Barry Manilow is practically my neighbor...but anyway I digress...

Last night I was contemplating this post and had a case of writer's block; so I went outside for a midnight swim. While standing in the moonlight I had an inspiration for today's Saturday Seven post. Perhaps it was someone I saw...but I'll never disclose those details, I am however, happy to share another scintillating edition of The Saturday Seven: Memorable TV Characters from Way Back.
This is a list of characters who for whatever reason remain etched in my mind. I'm not suggesting they are good or bad, but that I just remember them clearly from this role.
#1 J. R. Ewing- Dallas (Larry Hagman)

#2 Samantha Stevens- Bewitched (Elizabeth Montgomery)

#3 Steve Austin: The Six Million Dollar Man (Lee Majors)

#4 Jeannie: I Dream of Jeannie (Barbara Eden)

#5 Benny Hill: The Benny Hill Show

#5 John Steed: The Avengers (Patrick Macnee)

#7 Chrissy Snow: Three's Company (Suzanne Somers- she's practically my neighbor)

Bonus entry: Tattoo and Mr Rourke: Fantasy Island (Herve V. and Ricardo Monteblan)

Do YOU have any memorable TV characters that remain in your mind? Go ahead, leave a comments, it's totally FREE TODAY!

Definitely Mr. Roark, but for me there is Carolyn Jones (as Morticia Addams), John Astin (as Charles Addams), Yvonne DeCarlo and Fred Gwyne (as Herman & Lily Munster), and William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy & Deforrest Kelly (as Kirk, Spock & McCoy).

However, top of all lists should be: Jack Webb as Sgt. Joe Friday.

Mr Farley on Three's Company and his fish face remain etched in my mind.

Nice that Mr Rourke and Tattoo made in on there, I have many memories of "the plane! the plane!".

Thank you for stopping by and enjoying the wonder that is Jonas (you should see him move - oh my lord!).

You probably don't remember the Mod Squad; Pete, Linc and Jullie (Michael Cole, Clarence Williams III, and Peggy Lipton), a great action show. A good comedy was Maude (starring Bea Arthur) but the reason I watched was to see Carol as played by Adrienne Barbeau.

Hi Rick,

Your posting about those shows brings back so many memories. I think the only one I didn`t watch much of was Benny Hill, but still some of him.
"Da plane, da plan" loved fantasy island...Bewitched....Dallas. loved them all you`ve posted.
Thanks for the little message about quitting and it being God`s wake up call. I`ll keep remembering that each day.

Barry Manilow is your neighbour! Wow! I love his Copacabana song. This post was a trip down Memory Lane for me Rick. I remember all of them except Suzanne Somers. We didn't have Three's Company over here. Benny Hill was one of my favourites and one of Britain's finest comediens. JR was very famous over here when the "Who Shot JR" scenario was going on. The Fonz was a really popular character here too! I enjoyed Happy Days.
