The "Amazing Sea Monkeys" Project

Regular readers of this blog may recall a recent post of "The Saturday Seven: Favorite Comic Book Ads". After writing that post I received a number of e-mails about the ad for "Sea Monkeys". It prompted me to go online and order Sea Monkeys for myself. I was delighted when they arrived early this week, and I decided to set up the tank on my desk at work. Carefully following the instructions, I began the adventure of growing REAL SEA MONKEYS. I was fascinated to learn that there were several steps involved. Step one was to prepare the water by adding a special "water purification" powder, which apparently also included a "secret hatching catalyst". I had to wait 24 hours before proceeding to envelope #2: "Instant Live Sea Monkey Eggs". So yesterday morning I added the eggs and "magic crystal powder" to the prepared water. Now I wait. I eagerly await the arrival of tiny Sea Monkeys as my new office companions.

I was soooo excited on year to buy these for my step son for Christmas. I had always wanted them. We went in and looked at them every day. We then decided to change the water b/c it was getting murky.

We no longer have sea monkeys.

Good luck!!!

LOL. VERY exciting!
I bought sea monkeys for my kids, and I accidentally dumped the whole thing when I was cleaning one day.
You can NOT imagine the guilt. I singl handedly wiped out an entire civilization.
Oh, the heartbreak.

Sea Monkeys rock—until they start forming their own tankwide self-governing system. Drink them up now, I say.

I do remember these! We'd wait by the mailbox for them to arrive. And they'd be dead within the week.

Hmm, it might be a bit tough to snuggle with these new pets on a cool winter night. Do you have names planned for your expected arrivals? Go with something modern, but classic, so they're not teased when they get to school. (Kids can be so cruel!)
