Spotlight on Owen

This week I took Owen to the groomer for his usual "lion cut" haircut but he had so many knots and tangles that he had to be shaved down a lot shorter than usual. When he got home he was cranky...and paced around for awhile...

So I called him up onto his favorite bar stool to have a talk, "cat to man". He listened intently as I explained how he really needs to do a better job grooming himself in between visits to the groomer. But I told him what a good kitty he was, then he bowed to acknowledge my words.

And then he moved in close, stared at me and suddenly began talking. He is very communicative, and squints his eyes as he meows. He looks like something out of the Chronicles of Narnia or something. But he's my boy!

He's so odd looking, yet adorable. Like the cat version of a pug or something.

How does Owen feel about his sworn enemy, Dr. Sidney Wang, getting his own feature?

It's amazing how you're able to make the storyline come alive with the photos that you take of Owen. The last one I saw in a previous blog was priceless!

BenWu- Owen tolerates Dr Wang..but before Dr Wang moved into his current tank (a 5 gal Mini Bow) he was just in a 1 gallon bowl. One day I came home and caught Owen with his entire face in the bowl, looking down at Dr Wang throughthe surface of the water. I lept into action to stop any notions of feeding time that Owen was pursuing. I turned around and went to the store to buy Dr Wang's tank...which has a hood and light and keeps Owen out. Now Owen jumps up on the counter sits in front of Dr Wang and stares at him!

I would STILL be pacing around and cranky.

I am sure one of Owen's goals in life is to get to Dr. Wang and have a taste of him haha :o) but his dad does not allow him. See? With that expression on his face he is saying "Dad, you don't get me!"
Cheers!

he looked like one pissed off kitty till the pic of him talking. Then he just looked so dang adorable.

Do you get him cut cuz of his mats???

I guess I've been lucky with mine being short haired. I had a half Persian that we had to shave quite often.

Rick I hope the blahs are gone. Owen looks like Yoda. All-knowing but somehow still vulnerable. (OK, REALLY vulnerable after that haircut!)

Are you going to get cooler weather soon?
