Weekend in Arizona: San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The highlight of my trip to Phoenix was the visit to Chase Field to see the San Diego Padres take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was my first time at Chase Field; it's a fantastic air conditioned ball bark with great seating, and a nice array of restaurants and bars overlooking the field.

Before the game: a feast at the Lexus Club...

The Lexus Club overlooks the field and is nicely appointed. They had an amazing spread of food for us.

Above: They had an variety of hot and cold gourmet foods, with carving stations galore...

Above: Lunch ended with imported cheeses and wines.
And then the big game...

Above left: Who says Phoenix doesn't have balls? Above right: view of the field from inside Friday's Bar and Grille

Above: The Padres stormed the D-backs with four home runs in the first three innings. Arizona never recovered, the final score was 10-2, Padres. This game was important for the season because San Diego's victory over Arizona (76-63) allowed the Padres (76-51) achieve first place in the National League West. It was a lot of fun. The Diamondback fans were very welcoming. Special thanks to my hosts on this trip, the San Diego Padre's management team. It was a first class weekend all the way.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to our world class park. Hubby and I took the kids to the Rockies/D-Backs game on Saturday night. Of course, we don't sit where you do - we were in the cheap seats! I appreciate your kind offer, too.

Bummed about our D-Backs loss, but I'm not surprised. Seems to be a pattern for us - lead the division and then start losing.

Sigh.

Looks like it was a blast. Glad you had fun. Unfortunately, I was at the Cubs game on Monday and saw them get trounced. Still in first place, though. How unlikely is that?

sounds like the game was a blast.. I only live about 4 hrs away from the Blue jays and have always wanted to go to a game...although lately I am not sure they would be worth the trip..lmao.
