Positively Pre-Eminent Pets

Regular readers of this blog know that I am a huge pet person. In my opinion dogs and cats make the world a better place. There is nothing quite like having a dog welcome you home everyday, thrilled to see you and ready to help ease away all of the stress of the day. TV watching is always better with a dog curled up at your feet, or a kitty snuggling against you on the sofa. My friends have some great dogs too. Take, for instance, this little cutie here, Oliver, the Pug. Oliver is my friend BenWu's dog who I helped "raise" at work back he was just a lil' pup. Look at that face! (BenWu, thanks for being a faithful reader dude). Then there are these two beautiful girls below...

above: Two beautiful Poodles, "Miss Peaches" (white) and Miss Anne (black). Some of you may recall that Miss Peaches is actually a famous Poodle...she graces the package of a super premium dog food ProPlan Selects (photo above right). She may have had a bit of re-touching for her glamour shot, but she is a super model as far as I am concerned. Both girls are the daughters of my friend Candy who reads this blog from time to time.

AND FINALLY...

above: My pride and joy: Koshimi (my Shiba Inu) and Owen (Persian kitty). I took this photo Wednesday night while watching American Idol. They are good buds who hang out together most of the time.

Oh God yes. Animals in general are amazing creatures, and these pets are like family.

One can't help but to love them and really appreciate them for their pure and honest behavior.

They are a definite perk make life worth living.

The photo of Ben-Wu -too cute! That expression on his face is something else. Loved the photos too of your dog and cat - beautiful, they are!

Today is D-day here as my daughter has an appointment to take our old cat to the vet -sadly, this is to have her put down. She's having way more issues, just down to a skeleton now, with fur barely covering it and very, very wobbly, as well as the senility issues too. Having had her for 16 1/2 years now, it's going to be a difficult time for my daughter and for me to see her go. She's been a good, faithful, loving cat as well as one who was very beautiful too.

I love dogs and cats..if I didn't have my three little guys, I'd be a house full of dogs and a cat or two. someday...when the oldest can write cursive is when we decided we'll approach the dog edition...for now, we wait. :)

Always,
Elizabeth

Yeah Ollie! He misses coming to work and screaming at other dogs. Yes, blog readers, he literally screams like a banshee when he is excited.

You know, it's funny...but right when I started reading this post, Mason woke up and looked right at me -- eye to eye -- from the spot he sleeps on next to my desk while I'm blogging. It was one of "those moments." He is a doll. I never thought I'd be a pet person...ever!

I'm constantly amazed at the totally different appearances that dogs have, all descended from the wolf. But no matter how they look there will be someone to love them and they will love back without question.

Great pet pics!
Pugs have such expressive faces, don't they?
I know I couldn't have gotten through the last few months without my cats!

Awww, such cuties! Our lives would be a bit off kilter w/o our pets wouldn't they! I have a Chihuahua that I call our 'short bus' baby. she acts exactly like the kids with Downs Syndrome do. too cute..loves everyone, tries to lick ppl and other pets,(cats included!!!)to death....a wee bit on the stocky side...ears a bit lower on the head than normal.... I'd be lost w/o her.At the end of the day, no matter whatkind of day I've had....she'll try to lick my cares away!

Awww....As you know, I'm a big fan of black pugs, although my Chumley does not scream - He comes close when the trash man comes into the back yard, but it never quite makes it to a full blown pug scream!

Oliver is a cutie - although he looks a wee bit psychotic!

I miss having pets...I'm still so sad that I couldn't keep my Zoe. Luckily, the people I bake for have 2 pugs who love me, so I get my pet fix.

Adorable!!! I agree with you! I love our fur babies. In fact, I like them more than I like some people! ;)

Love your blog, Rick!

My dad was buried with his faithful yellow lab's ashes in a box in his coffin. Rockey was a funny dog with a very expressive face. He smiled when he was up to mischief. My dad also had a ranch dog, a Chessy names Chewy who ran the ranch. He died from the same cancer that took my dad, and it snuck up just as mysteriously as my dad's did! Chewy died exactly one year after my dad's onset of symptoms struck. I think that pets are able to tune into their handlers (my dad could never claim to be the owner of any of his dogs, "Who's running the show around here? It's someone who can never vote!")

We have a dog and two cats. They will climb on my bed and roll around together and play but as soon as they see any of the people they pretend to not only not know each other, but dislike one another on top of it!

Oliver looks Photoshopped-- like what you get when you breed a pug with a koi fish! He is so adorable!

Those poodles are so pretty!

I love the pic of Koshimi and Owen-- they look so relaxed in front of your camera!

Your pets have laser eyes!!!

I love my Chocolate Labroador, Reagan. I love him even more when he's behaving and not trying to sniff my butt or chew up our laundry.

Sweet. I always enjoy cats and dogs that are friends. My sister's tabby has finally accepted their dachsund. You always find them together sleeping in the same roon while the family is off at work, school etc.

We can't have a dog, but everyday when I get home, our kitty Maisy misses us so much she cries at the door before I can even get the lock open. Then once we get in, she then truns around in circles, flops herslef down on the carpet and acts like an adorable spaz. I just love her!!

I just got back from a visit that included my granddog and of course I had to take some photos of him too until he got impatient with the flash and complained.
