Here's a bit of interesting news. Our local newspaper, The Desert Sun, has reported that Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi are planning a "lavish wedding" at the legendary Riviera Resort Hotel in Palm Springs later this year. A source from the New York Post stated that while no contracts have been signed, the couple are looking to have a ceremony by the pool and their reception in the hotel's grand ballroom. I really hope the report is true, and they keep their plans to marry in Palm Springs.The Riviera Resort and Spa has a storied history- it was a favorite of Sinatra and the Rat Pack, along with a string of major Hollywod celebrities from that era and earlier. The hotel has been undergoing a massive renovation and is scheduled to reopen in October. Ellen- if you happen to read this, I hope you do come to Palm Springs, after all I did persoanlly invite you to come!

They are a good-looking couple, and a ceremony in Palm Springs would definitely suit them perfectly.
