Exploring Palm Springs: The Walk of Stars

For those of you interested in old Hollywood celebrities and such, situated in downtown Palm Springs is the The Palm Springs Walk of Stars. The walk honors individuals in show business who lived here and also contributed to our desert community. I spent some time yesterday "doing the walk" and snapped a few photos for this post. There are also great celebrity tours in town to see the (former and in some cases current) homes of these celebrities. Here are a few I've captured, not necessarily the most famous...sorry the photos aren't too good.

Above: Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe

Above: Marlene Dietrich & Elizabeth Taylor

Above: Frank Sinatra (sorry about the shadow of my hand) & Bob Hope
Above: Howard Keel & Al Jolson

Above: "Cheeta the Chimp" and Ginger Rogers

Above: Ann Miller & William Powell

Above: Phyllis Diller & Rick Nelson

Above Liberace & Connie Stevens
above: Mary Pickford & Dick Van Patten (note: I came back and added this photo on 1/15/08 when his star was installed)

Above: The Palm Springs Savant (how did that get here???)
Hope you enjoyed these, there are loads more, but it was too hot to keep walking around yesterday. Happy Sunday.
